It was my understanding that all motors installed outside of a building, particularly pool pumps, must have a disconnecting means within sight of the motor. This is on an above ground pool, are they classed as permanent or storable?
Any help would be appreciated.
regards, mike.

Not all above-ground pools are classed as storeable. I don't know who makes that determination, probably the electrical inspector.
In my opinion, a storable pool will only have one electrical component, a pump motor that is specifically designed for the purpose. It will be cord connected, and the receptacle/plug serves as the required disconnecting means.
